It’s pretty clear which way I’d go, but if you prefer AT&T or T-Mobile, the Galaxy Nexus will be offered through them. Still, a huge part of me wanted Google to release this phone as able to work with any network, in case consumers wanted to switch. OK, to be fair, the iPhone 4S is technically capable of working with any US network, but when I looked more closely at this in October, it was pretty clear that carriers were still allowed to screw that all up. GSM Or LTE/CDMA, You’ve Got To Chooseĭisappointingly, you can’t buy one version of this phone that will work with any network in the US, as you can with the iPhone 4S. I’ve wanted Verizon to have a “pure” Google phone for ages, which might get updated more quickly and maybe solve these type of issues. It’s become so unusable that I’ve started thinking about going back to the iPhone as my main phone.

It constantly crashes, as it sits there still running Android 2.2.1. My Droid Charge, which I picked over the HTC Thunderbolt earlier this year, is now driving me crazy. However, none of these are “pure” Android phones. The collection of Verizon phones that do 4G is growing: I can upload 8 photos to Google+ within seconds, a task that takes a regular 3G phone seemingly ages to complete. All that's left to ask for is more resolution, and Google's partners will certainly fill that gap when they release their own Ice Cream Sandwich smartphones.It is potentially the smartphone I’ve been waiting for since last year: the latest Android version, a “pure” Google experience and the ability to use what I consider the only real “4G” out there - Verizon. It's a little awkward to edit video on a phone and the rendering can take its time, but having the ability to do it is cool no matter how you look at it. You could ask for one of those, and you'd get it, too. What more could you ask for, really? Oh, an HD video editing app. All of this functionality is controlled through a new user interface that is a vast improvement over the old one, and the photos and videos the phone creates are of good quality.

The forward-facing 1.3 megapixel camera, which lacks autofocus and flash, can record its own 720p HD videos. It also offers a number of cool effects that can be used in videos, such as 'big eyes.'

#GALAXY NEXUS 1080P#

In camcorder mode, the camera can record 1080p Full HD video, but the video can become a bit choppy. Images look quite good, and there's a built-in panorama mode. The camera is super fast, making it possible to fire off shots in rapid succession as long as the phone's decent built-in flash is not being used. The camera app in Android also received a major update, even if the Galaxy Nexus camera only features a 5 megapixel sensor.
